Now here’s a little bit of paradise on the coast near Brunswick Heads up near the Queensland border. While it’s booming now, Ocean Shores was developed by that almost-forgotten film star, Pat Boone, who did a bundle on the deal.
There’s a great beach here, wonderful fishing in the ocean and at the mouth of the Brunswick River.
Although Ocean Shores is only four kilometres north of Brunswick Heads, the township has its own, comprehensive shopping centre. A commercial fishing fleet assures that fresh seafood is in abundance, and there are several good restaurants, a beaut little tavern and a rocking pub at Brunswick Heads. The challenging, Ocean Shore Gold Club's layout is rated in the top 10 of NSW courses.
On top of all that, it’s only a hop step and a jump up into the cool and verdant hills behind the town, while Byron Bay and Ballina to the south, Lismore to the west and Tweed Heads to the north are all with an hour's driving distance.
